Welcome to Baby Banter! We are Gayl, Sarah and Sherri, all Pediatric Speech Language Pathologists, who happen to be related. Baby Banter, or as we like to call it BB, came to life in the year of the pandemic. We had many conversations about taking our passion for Speech Pathology and creating tools to help empower parents in supporting their child's speech and language growth. Combined we have over 25 years of experience, a passion for early intervention, and a desire to help families. We wanted to create a platform that offered tips and tools that can be implemented into your busy family life that is relatable and realistic. Our hope is to be a trusted and caring resource for you as you support your little one's speech and language development.

Meet The Team

Gayl Szmuilowicz

I’m Gayl, the original Simkin of the group, who now has a much longer last name. My husband, Jacob, and I have an adorable Portuguese Water Dog named Alfie and we are currently trying to grow our family. My roots are Canadian, but I have lived in Southern California for most of my life. Jacob’s family is from Mexico City, so we are excited to raise our future kids in a bilingual English and Spanish home. I have been working as a pediatric SLP for the past seven years and love supporting children and their families. In my free time, I love to read, hike and travel!

Sarah Simkin

Hey, I am Sarah. I am the mama of two girls, Joey (4.5) and Lulu (1.5) and married to Jordan for almost 10 years. Crazy. I was raised learning

Lebanese and English and love learning different languages. I have been a Speech and Language Pathologist for over 11 years and have a passion for Early Intervention and Social/Pragmatic Language. I have had the privilege of working in an array of settings with different ages. I also enjoy cooking with my girls, going to the farmers market with the fam and movie nights in our backyard.

Sherri Simkin

I’m SHERRI!

First things first, I’m the mama to three wonderful kids. My oldest is Oliver, my middle is Sienna, and my youngest is Skye. Oh yea, I’m also married to a very funny guy, Michael. I’m a Cali girl, born and raised and bilingual, fluent in English/Persian. I spent 11 year working with the pediatric population in Los Angeles. I have been lucky to learn from a diverse population with a range of abilities. My passions include my family, being an SLP, and growing environmental consciousness.
